Every dog is treated to a one on one, stress free grooming with a highly trained and experienced stylist. Our expert, caring staff takes their time with each client to ensure that all expectations are exceeded. We take pride in the bond and trust built with our furry clients, taking the time to build on it at every visit. There are no kennels and we complete every step of the process by hand; from washing and drying to brushing and scissoring, your pup will never be left unattended. The salon is kept calm and quiet throughout the day with no distractions, so your pet will always have our full attention.

The Plush Paws mobile salon is a state of the art unit! It has been professionally converted and includes temperature controlled water, heat and air conditioning and an electric grooming table. The van is powered by batteries offering a quiet alternative to noisy generators. All we require is a flat/level place to park!

Safety and cleanliness are important to us at Plush Paws. Our products are biodegradable, hand picked from a line up of luxury brands specifically made for dogs. Always cruelty free, non toxic and paraben and sulphate free. The products best suited for each pet are decided based on a skin and coat evaluation. Inside the van we use pet safe cleaning products to disinfect between pets, preventing the spread of any communicable diseases. On top of this we also give the van a deep clean before signing off for the night.

Planet care is important to us too! Sustainability is a goal we strive to achieve as a business and a consumer. We try our best to limit single use plastics by reusing shampoo bottles and recycling where we can. Choosing biodegradable products allows us to sleep at night knowing we did our job without causing any harm to the environment, they break down faster and evaporate to non harmful vapours. We are a paperless company, opting for E-billing wherever we can, using an online booking system, as well as offering to email receipts when required. We also try to source all our supplies locally, cutting down on shipping distance and packaging! (Not to mention supporting other small business’). They may be small efforts, but even just bringing awareness can go a long way!

Hi, I’m Taryn!

As the owner and lead stylist I am so happy to welcome you to the Plush Paws family!

I’ve called Hamilton, Ontario home my entire life and am proud to have served the community and it’s dogs for the last 5+ years..however, that chapter has come to and end….

After visiting British Columbia for the last 5 years my family and I decided to take the leap and make the move to Victoria! In June 2026 we sold our home of 10 years and this summer we will pack up and make the move to Vancouver Island. I’m very excited to build the business again while following a dream of island life with my family! I love the small business and community support that seems to be at the centre of life on Vancouver Island and I hope over the years ahead my business will become ingrained in island history.

A little about my start in this career..

I started my career, or more accurately, it found me when I was asked to help out for a couple of days. It did not take me long to realize this was a world I wanted to be a part of and grow in.

After nearly 10 years of working in a corporate environment, I realized that my skills, and my passion needed to evolve to the next level. With that in mind, I spent the next few years in a private salon where I would interact closely with each client and personalize the grooming experience. This freedom allowed me to expand my skills and as a result, received many accolades and awards within the grooming community.

Continuing education and sharing my knowledge is the drive behind our growth and excellent standard of care. As a dedicated stylist I am passionate about going above and beyond simple dog grooming and strive to ensure that all pets are thriving. As well as keeping up with the trends its important to me to stay up to date with industry standards, including the best products, tools, and safety/handling techniques. I love attending competitions and seminars and then applying what I’ve learned to enhance the overall experience.

I have had the pleasure of grooming many dogs from their puppy stages (my favourite) to their senior years, providing the same quality of work each and every time (something I take great pride in). I make a promise every time I take a dog into my care, that for that short period of time he/she is with me, I will care for them with the compassion and tenderness as if they were my own dog.
